Polis Chrysochous, Paphos

Polis Chrysochous campsite is 30 km from Paphos City. Coral Bay is 21 km from the property.

Nice beach (but pebbly in some places) with a beach cafe bar.  Well equipped campsite and very reasonable rates!

I am the first to admit I am not a camping lover, however, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay here.

The site has the capacity for 200 tents, but no you can’t hire tents to my knowledge. There are toilet blocks plus showers and washing areas for dishes etc.

There is a cafe bar, with TV, on the edge of the beach, it’s a beautiful place to sit and relax. There is also a mini-market but this is only open June, July and August. There are other facilities including shops and restaurants in the nearby town of Polis, which is approximately 500m from the campsite.

Umbrellas and sunbeds are available on the beach, and in peak season there is a lifeguard present.

We had a great time ‘glamping’ with our homemade candle-abra, good food and champagne! It really is a very peaceful location, although it was a bit packed and noisy in the evening when everyone was drinking and eating by their tents. Having said that I did sleep well, and in the morning we found a white feather on our tent – isn’t that supposed to be a sign of something?!? A sign of a good time had by all I think! 🙂

Would I return?

Yes, although I am not a camping lover I did enjoy it.

Suitable for:

Families, couples, friends, solo, groups.

Best time to visit:

It’s open March until October (weather dependent) although the height of summer when it’s not cold in the evenings is best in my opinion.
